the project ‘long pauses’ is a study concerning ‘sound and ideology’.
during katharina stadler’s one month artist-in-residency in baku, azerbaijan (mid november – mid december 2015) she focussed on sound which creates the city’s metastructure, experimenting with sound notations/partiturae of the city and their possibility of noting down ideology of/through sound. through recording, sketching and analysing on site she intended on transforming the audible into something like a meta translation, but not only.
the publication ‘long pauses’ was presented in baku in march 2016.
katharina stadler’s one month artist-in-residency in baku was made possible through the generous support of the Austrian Embassy in Baku.
